The main task of a Conventional Machinist is to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts on a conventional lathe machine. Must be proficient in general machinist competencies as well as reading blueprints/ drawings.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Understand and interpret the blueprints and technical drawings;
• Conduct a first production trial;
• Make correction according to the results of the first trial and make necessary adjustments as required;
• Verify machining of parts and make necessary corrections;
• Polish machines parts;
• Maintain work area, equipment and tools;
• Advise your supervisor of necessary repairs or defects of tools and/or equipment;
• Participate in training new employees;
• Execute all related tasks;

Skill requirements:

• DEP in conventional machining;
• 1 to 3 year of work experience as a conventional machinist;
• Ability to read and interpret drawings;
• Be adaptable, capable to learn quickly, detailed-oriented and punctual;
• Able to work on your own as well as in team;
• Reach a good execution speed;
• Bilingual French and English is an asset;
