Conventional Machinist – Milling & Lathe
The main task of a Conventional Machinist is to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts on a conventional lathe machine. Must be proficient in general machinist competencies as well as reading blueprints/ drawings.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Understand and interpret the blueprints and technical drawings;
- Conduct a first production trial;
- Make correction according to the results of the first trial and make necessary adjustments as required;
- Verify machining of parts and make necessary corrections;
- Polish machines parts;
- Maintain work area, equipment and tools;
- Advise your supervisor of necessary repairs or defects of tools and/or equipment;
- Participate in training new employees;
- Execute all related tasks;
Skill requirements:
- DEP in conventional machining;
- 1 to 3 year of work experience as a conventional machinist;
- Ability to read and interpret drawings;
- Be adaptable, capable to learn quickly, detailed-oriented and punctual;
- Able to work on your own as well as in team;
- Reach a good execution speed;
- Bilingual French and English is an asset;
