Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Negotiate competitive prices with suppliers;
  • Conduct research to compare price and quality among suppliers;
  • Make purchasing requests and prepare necessary documents;
  • Follow up on orders with suppliers in order to meet deadlines;
  • Investigate and resolve problems with missing items, missing merchandise, and damaged goods;
  • Enter the orders in the system and send them;
  • Make changes to purchase orders;
  • Conduct inventory adjustments and analysis of manufacturing nomenclatures;
  • Responsible to answer to internal needs;
  • Carry out clerical tasks including classification;
  • Ensure the application of the Health and Safety rules in force in the company;
  • Perform other related tasks;



  • DEC and/or procurement degree;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a buyer in the fabrication industry;
  • Bilingual French & English;
  • Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts;
  • Ability to conduct research on internet;
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft office suite;
  • Knowledge of MRP / ERP computerized production management software;
